The NAN AUC Youth & College Chapter is a unified civil rights organization serving all five Atlanta University Center institutions — built by students, for students.
To equip the next generation of leaders with access, opportunity, and a community worth belonging to. We organize, mobilize, and develop civically engaged students across the AUC who are committed to the fight for justice, equity, and community empowerment.
Membership in the NAN AUC Chapter is intentional and earned. We hold ourselves to a high standard because the work demands it. Every member commits to showing up — for the chapter, for the community, and for the movement.
Community action projects, voter registration drives, and advocacy work tied to NAN's active campaigns.
Access to NAN's national network of civil rights leaders, executives, and elected officials through structured events and speaker series.

Fall 2026 · AUC Campuses
Voter registration, education, and mobilization across all five AUC institutions. We are fighting for every student's right to vote and making sure no ballot goes uncounted. Look out for tabling events, registration drives, and deadline reminders throughout the semester.
September 2026 · AUC Campuses
Suicide Prevention Awareness Month drives our September lineup. The Service Committee assembles "You've Got Family Here" care bags September 12–19 — handwritten notes, mental health resources, and affirmation cards distributed in residence halls. The Education Committee hosts a Suicide Prevention Resource Fair on September 24th, teaching the chapter's 3-step model: Reach Out, Listen, Seek Help, and sharing the 988 Crisis Lifeline. The Community Committee closes out the month with our Fall Welcome Mixer on September 26th — meet the committee chairs, see the full fall calendar, and get plugged in.
October 2026 · AUC Campuses
October opens with our Signature Initiative — a Wellness & Safety Kit Distribution across AUC campuses September 29 through October 3, just ahead of Homecoming. No chapter events October 4–10 for Homecoming Week. The Education Committee hosts a Civic Engagement 101 Workshop on October 15th covering how local government affects campus life and voter registration basics. The Service Committee kicks off the Canned Food & Hygiene Drive on October 29th — collection bins across campus benefiting Atlanta-area shelters, running through November. The Community Committee wraps the month with a Game Night and Homecoming Recap on October 22nd.
November 2026 · AUC Campuses
November opens with Pizza & Policy November 1–3 — an informal student-led panel with Vice Presidents from three AUC schools covering how city and state decisions shape education, housing, transportation, and public safety. Location: CMW Room 103. The Education Committee hosts an Election Debrief & Financial Literacy session on November 12th. The Service Committee closes out the month with the Thanksgiving Food & Meal Packing Drive on November 19th — packing meal boxes for local families in partnership with an Atlanta-area community organization.
December 2026 · AUC Campuses
December is about closing strong and giving back. The Service Committee runs the Holiday Cards with Purpose and Winter Drive December 1–17 — handmade cards for seniors, veterans, and hospitalized children, plus collection of coats, blankets, hats, gloves, and socks for Atlanta-area shelters. The Education Committee hosts a Finals Wellness & Study Resource Fair on December 3rd. The chapter comes together December 10th for the End-of-Semester Celebration — recognizing outstanding members, acknowledging committee chairs, and previewing spring semester.

The NAN AUC Chapter stands with the family of 18-year-old Nolan Xavier Wells and joins NAN's national call for a full, transparent, and urgent investigation into his death.
Suicide Prevention Awareness Month · September 2026 · AUC Campuses
September 12 – 19 · Service Committee
Members write handwritten notes and assemble care bags for students living away from home. Bags include a motivational letter, tea, a granola bar, candy, mental health resources, and an affirmation card. Distributed in residence halls during a stressful week of the semester to combat homesickness and build community.
September 24 · Education Committee
A tabling event for Suicide Prevention Awareness Month. The Education Committee teaches the chapter's 3-step model — Reach Out, Listen, Seek Help — and shares the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline along with campus mental health resources. Open to all AUC students.
September 26 · Community Committee
The chapter's official general body meet-and-greet to open the semester. Committee chairs are introduced, the full fall calendar is presented, and new and returning members connect. Come ready to get plugged in.
Signature Initiative · October 2026 · AUC Campuses
September 29 – October 3 · Signature Initiative
The chapter's signature fall initiative. Wellness and safety kits are distributed across AUC campuses in the week leading up to Homecoming, when student stress and activity are at their peak. A chapter-wide effort across all three committees.
October 4 – 10 · AUC Homecoming Week
No NAN AUC programming is scheduled during AUC Homecoming Week. Enjoy the festivities — we'll be back October 15th.
October 15 · Education Committee
A workshop on how local and state government affects everyday campus life — covering housing, transportation, education, and public safety. Includes voter registration basics ahead of the November Pizza & Policy panel. Prepares members to lead informed conversations in their communities.
October 22 · Community Committee
A casual social event scheduled after Homecoming Week wraps. Members reconnect and recap the festivities in a relaxed setting. Open chapter mixer welcoming any interested students who want to learn more about the chapter.
October 29 · Service Committee
Collection bins are launched across campus for canned goods and hygiene items. Donations benefit Atlanta-area shelters. The drive runs through the Thanksgiving Food & Meal Packing Drive in November — giving members the full month to contribute.

An informal student-led panel featuring a Vice President from each of the three AUC schools. Topics include how city and state decisions shape education, housing, transportation, and public safety — and how to stay engaged after elections. Food provided. Location: CMW Room 103.
November 12 · Education Committee
A recap of key outcomes from the November elections and what they mean locally for students and communities. Followed by an introductory financial literacy session covering budgeting and credit basics. Q&A with committee leads to close.
November 19 · Service Committee
The chapter closes out the food and hygiene drive started in October by packing meal boxes for local families in need. Distribution is done in partnership with an Atlanta-area community organization. All members are encouraged to participate.
Closing Out the Fall Semester · December 2026 · AUC Campuses
December 1 – 17 · Service Committee
Members create handmade holiday cards for seniors, veterans, and hospitalized children. Simultaneously the chapter collects coats, blankets, hats, gloves, and socks for distribution to Atlanta-area shelters. A meaningful way to close out the semester by giving back to the broader community.
December 3 · Education Committee
A tabling event during finals prep featuring study tips, campus academic support resources, stress-relief activities, and finals-week self-care resource cards. Designed to support students through one of the most demanding weeks of the semester.
December 10 · Community Committee
A chapter-wide social to close out the fall semester. Outstanding members and committee chairs are recognized for their contributions throughout the semester. The evening closes with a preview of spring 2027 plans — so come ready to get excited about what's next.
